What to Expect When Entering Mexico

When you arrive at the Andrade, California port of entry, you have two options: driving your car across the border or parking on the US side and walking across. We highly recommend parking on the US side and walking. Dr. Moguel's clinic is located at Av. B and Calle 2da, which is only a 5-minute, flat, and paved walk from the pedestrian border gate. Walking saves you from purchasing Mexican auto insurance, navigating tight streets, and waiting in long vehicular border lines on your way back.

The border crossing process is very straightforward. You will walk through a modern turnstile, pass through Mexican Customs (where your bags may be X-rayed), and immediately find yourself on the vibrant streets of Los Algodones. Best Times to Cross and Border Hours

The Andrade port of entry is open daily from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM (Pacific Time).

• Best entry times: Crossing early in the morning (between 6:00 AM and 8:00 AM) is ideal. It allows you to beat the midday desert heat and ensure you arrive on time for morning appointments.
• Best return times: The pedestrian border line to return to the US can grow long in the early afternoon (typically between 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM) as patients finish their treatments. Crossing back before 11:00 AM or after 4:00 PM often means a much shorter wait, sometimes under 15 minutes.
